Sustainability is an abstract term, but it nonetheless has a very real impact on how we work. As a family business, we work in accordance with the concept of sustainable development. We minimize the environmental impact of what we do as far as possible and are aware of our social responsibility towards our employees and fellow human beings. When taking decisions, we consider the generations yet to come, and we set great store by cultivating fair and open relationships with our business partners.

Preserving what is valuable#

Our business strategy shows how serious we are about this. In it, we have anchored key objectives for sustainable development. In the last few years, we have taken a range of steps in terms of sustainability. As an industrial business and manufacturer of construction products, we feel a particular sense of responsibility when it comes to the following four areas. We will continue to pursue this path consistently.

Materials: long-lasting and recyclable

Our products are made of steel and enamel, a natural fused glass made from minerals such as borax and quartz. With a 30-year warranty, we offer extremely robust, long-lasting products that are 100% recyclable and combine timeless design.

Gray energy: acting consciously

Gray energy refers to the total energy required to manufacture a product over its life cycle, including the energy used for upstream processes and disposal. To reduce our energy consumption, we use measures such as waste heat recovery, energy-efficient building renovations and packaging optimisations.

Comfort and indoor climate: ergonomic and emission-free

Our product design focuses on timeless comfort, functionality and durability, with ease of use and ergonomics at its core. Glazed titanium steel ensures a pollutant-free indoor climate and meets the high acoustic requirements of standard SIA 181:2020.

Climate compatibility: reducing emissions

Our photovoltaic system already covers one fifth of our electricity requirements, while we also source certified hydroelectric power. To continuously reduce our CO₂ emissions, we have implemented various measures such as using waste heat and optimizing our packaging.
